About the role:

Lingfield Park Resort is one of the busiest racecourses in the UK, with over 80 racing fixtures this year and hosted a sell-out music and racing event for 12,000 customers. The Racecourse Kitchen Team is at the heart of providing an amazing experience for guest on racedays throughout our multiple outlets including hospitality boxes and Trackside Restaurant.

The Racecourse Kitchen also caters for our hospitality guests on non-racedays across the Resort including conferences, weddings, parties and special dinners.

The Sous Chef will report to the Head Chef (Racecourse) and assist them in organising and supervising all aspects of kitchen operation to provide high quality food and awareness of hygiene regulations.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef with racing and non-racing hospitality catering operation
  • Menu planning and assisting with menu tastings
  • Managing agency and casual chefs on a day to day basis
  • Stocktaking
  • Ensuring quality control at all times throughout production process from raw material to ready plated end product.
  • Ensuring the tidy and hygienic storage of all food materials during any stage of the production process throughout the kitchen and secure stocks outside production hours.
  • To maintain good communication between Kitchen and other F&B and non-F&B departments.

About you

The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a L3 Food Safety in Catering qualification. They will have experience as a Sous Chef in a multi-outlet environment. They will be customer service focused and self-motivated, with excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills. They will have a full knowledge of HACCP procedures.

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the team at our Newcastle Greyhound Stadium. The main duties will include responsibility for all of the Purchase ledger and Bank reconciliation functions associated with Newcastle and Sunderland Greyhound Stadia.

The successful candidate will be proactive, accurate and highly motivated with a positive attitude towards work. The candidate should also possess previous significant experience in a similar role, ideally hold a AAT qualification and must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • To ensure that the Purchase Ledger is accurately maintained and process deadlines (payment dates) are met.
  • To ensure suppliers (trade suppliers, trainers, other suppliers) are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions, or in accordance with best practice.
  • To ensure good internal control with respect to the Purchase Ledger function. For example, purchase orders (PO’s) are raised and signed by the appropriate signatories, PO’s are attached to invoices for payment, invoices signed by the appropriate signatories and coded correctly.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
  • Help prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as requested.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for all accounting documents.
  • Process month end reports and check for accuracy.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding entered data.
  • Complete Journal entries.
  • Complete required bank transfers.

About the role:

You will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for carrying out all types of maintenance on the buildings (Inc. Golf Club) and grounds. In additional to this, you will be required to set all internal and external spaces for event days.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Maintaining all new and existing buildings by carrying out decorating, plumbing, carpentry and buildings works where practically possible to a high standard of workmanship and finish.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance schedules to ensure that all new and existing facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards of presentation.
  • Keep historical records for all planned and unscheduled maintenance that is carried out on items as outlined above.
  • Ensure that all works on buildings, site work, track work, etc are carried out in compliance with all Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Maintain our life systems to regulations with weekly/monthly/annual testing.
  • Work with all racecourse site contractors and be there main daily point of contact.
  • Move furniture and set areas for both racedays and events.
  • Lock and unlock site before and after all racedays and other identified events.
  • Working unsociable and often long hours on racing and event days.
  • Carry out any other tasks/duties to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Proven record of successfully working within a maintenance/facilities department,
  • At least five years’ experience in general buildings maintenance is a desirable
  • Must have a basic understanding of electric’s, joinery, tiling and decorating.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Chef de Partie, with at least 2 years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. This positon offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with our Hotel Head Chef and Sous Chef, to support less experienced chefs and to ensure that a high standard of food quality, food safety is delivered.

This is a diverse role providing breakfast, lunch and dinner service in the 100 cover Cyprium Grill Restaurant, and food during the day and evening for the two hotel bars to guests, Spa customers, golfers and resort customers. In addition the hotel kitchen provides food for room service and the conferences and events situated within the hotel.

You will work closely with the front of house teams to ensure orders are delivered promptly and to high standards to food quality to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and positive response to customer requests. You will be customer service focused and pro-active with a motivated ‘spirit to serve’ attitude, and excellent leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Clean and organize items stored in laundry room, supply/storage closets, linen room, and/or uniform room. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Relevant NVQ Level 2 & 3 qualifications
  • Ideally have previous Spa experience
  • Demonstrate customer service excellence, attention to detail, and be highly motivated.
  • Be flexible with regard to hours and days of work.
