The racecourse is set in spectacular surroundings and steeped in racing history. Located on the South Coast, with a thrilling and exciting atmosphere. Fontwell Park offers 24 exciting jump race meetings throughout the year and remains the only figure of eight jumps course in the UK. Aside from racing, Fontwell Park hosts a huge range of events; from Weddings to Banqueting, Exhibitions to Christmas Parties and Meeting Space for 2 – 400 guests.

The Marketing Manager will successfully manage and co-ordinate all business marketing activities for Fontwell Park Racecourse to ensure that sales turnover targets are met or exceeded within the annual marketing budget. You will target both the corporate and consumer markets, create and manage campaigns, implement social media strategy and develop and manage key stakeholder relationships. Thus effectively delivering an integrated marketing strategy, achieved through direct management of the admissions process and associated staff, working closely with the Sales Team and all other relevant departments as required.

Arena Racing Company (ARC) has a very exciting role for a committed and driven Receptionist/Office Assistant to join our head office team. ARC is the largest racecourse group in the UK, operating 16 racecourses, across a mix of flat, jump and all-weather tracks, hosting about 35% of the UK’s annual horseracing fixtures.

This role is to support the Head Office team and Directors to ensure the smooth running of Head office. The incumbent is required to deliver an excellent service to Head office team members as well as providing a welcoming and professional atmosphere to all of our visitors.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Answering the telephone, directing calls to relevant staff members. Taking messages where the staff member is unavailable and ensuring these messages reach them.
  • Meeting and greeting guests, making them feel welcome.
  • Scheduling meeting rooms.
  • Setting up rooms for meetings and offering drinks to visitors before and during the meetings.
  • Attend meetings if requested to take minutes/notes/actions in meetings as required
  • Collect, open and distribute the mail. A well as sending out the mail at the end of each day.
  • Assist the EA with organisation of Company events Tasks will include assisting with creation of the guest list, sending out invites and managing the RSVP’s, sending out badges, venue, menu, hotels & travel for staff and entertaining on the day.
  • Maintain the smooth running of the office. Proactively sorting out any issues, ordering stationary, water, coffee etc.
  • Dealing with providers and suppliers. Fielding sales calls.
  • Diary management for any Directors needing assistance.
  • General administrative work

Qualifications and experience required for the role:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to think on your feet and be proactive in problem solving
  • Proficient in Office Suite – word, excel, powerpoint, outlook

  • Educated to at least GCSE standard, including Maths and English.

The successful candidate will be proactive, accurate and highly motivated with a positive attitude towards work. The main focus of this role will be to maintain and improve the standard of food preparation and service of the kitchen. They will also undertake training and coaching of junior staff and Commis Chefs. They will also supervise breakfast shift as and when required.

  • To supervise and assist with the food preparation and mise-en-place required for the breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
  • To assist in the ordering of food service materials and equipment to cope with the anticipated business.
  • To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times in all parts of the kitchen and all machinery and equipment that is used
  • To undertake any duties as directed, from time to time, by Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inputting and processing invoices as part of the sales ledger
  • Reconciling the hotel banking for F&B purchases and room stays on a daily basis
  • Checking and issuing commission invoices for 3rd parties responsible for hotel stay business
  • Support other members of the Finance Department with hotel and racing operations, including duties prior and during racedays
  • Produce monthly statements to suppliers regarding outstanding balances
  • Match invoices and food revenue across the resort to produce food flash reports
  • Place and process stationary orders for departments across the resort.

Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers. You may on occasions be required to assist in the cleaning of Guest rooms or other areas of the Resort outside the normal scope of your duties.

Junior Sous Chef - Lingfield

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Chef de Partie, with at least 2 years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. This positon offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with our Hotel Head Chef and Sous Chef, to support less experienced chefs and to ensure that a high standard of food quality, food safety is delivered.

This is a diverse role providing breakfast, lunch and dinner service in the 100 cover Cyprium Grill Restaurant, and food during the day and evening for the two hotel bars to guests, Spa customers, golfers and resort customers. In addition the hotel kitchen provides food for room service and the conferences and events situated within the hotel.

You will work closely with the front of house teams to ensure orders are delivered promptly and to high standards to food quality to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and positive response to customer requests. You will be customer service focused and pro-active with a motivated ‘spirit to serve’ attitude, and excellent leadership, teamwork and communication skills. You must also have a valid level 2 Food Safety certificate. Owing to the nature of our business evening and weekend working is required for this position.

The Linen Porter will transport linen carts with clean laundry from laundry room to storage rooms on each floor of the property. Replenish linens in the linen rooms based on the amount of linens needed for each floor as noted on the linen distribution form. Return cart to designated area at the end of shift. Clean and organize items stored in laundry room, supply/storage closets, linen room, and/or uniform room. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
