Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) is delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Windridge as Executive Director of Brighton Racecourse.
Sam Windridge joins ARC from Fulham Football Club where he held the position of Head of Commercial for five years. Within this role Sam was responsible for varied commercial venue streams including sponsorship, events and hospitality. He also sat on the Management Board that guided the Club’s strategic direction. Having studied economics at University, he has worked in elite sport for over 10 years for organisations including Clipper Ventures, Southampton Football Club and the Rugby Football League.
Sam will commence his new role on 31 May. The current Executive Director of Brighton Racecourse Shaun Steel is leaving ARC after 8 years having worked at Newcastle, Lingfield Park and Brighton Racecourses.
ARC Director of Operations Mark Spincer said: “We are really pleased to welcome Sam to ARC. His extensive experience of other sports, especially football and rugby, will help bring new expertise to our company. Sam joins at a busy time for Brighton Racecourse with the summer season well underway and some great racedays to look forward to, including the three day Festival in August which is always really well supported by the local community. I would like to thank Shaun for everything he has contributed over the last 8 years and wish him well for future success.”
