Chepstow Racecourse is delighted to welcome employees of Tata Steel for racing on Saturday 21 May, after having offered 1,000 free tickets to staff from the company. In addition to seven flat races at the Monmouthshire track, the evening will feature a concert by pop star Will Young.
Tickets have been made available to all employees of Tata Steel, and racecourse staff have been encouraged by the strong take up for the offer. Racing and music nights have proved a popular attraction in recent years at Chepstow Racecourse, with upcoming highlights including Simply Red on Friday 10 June and Peter Andre at Ladies Evening on Friday 8 July.
Executive Director of Chepstow Racecourse, Phil Bell, said “We are very aware that it is a difficult time for people working in the UK steel industry at the moment, so we’re very happy to be able to help offer a fun evening out for Tata Steel employees free of charge.
“We hope that this offer, which has proven to be very popular, will be appreciated by hard working people and that they enjoy their evening at the races and the concert by Will Young.”

Gates for racing will open at 3.00pm on Saturday, with the first race starting at 5.50pm and the last at 8.50pm. Will Young will take to the stage at roughly 9.30pm. Chepstow Racecourse will offer free parking and there will be shuttle bus service operating to the racecourse from both Chepstow and Newport train stations.
