• All sectioning timing data from every All-Weather Championship race on ARC’s four all-weather racecourses now available on www.atheraces.com
• Information includes full analytical tools for racing fans
On the day the 2016-17 All-Weather Championships are launched at Lingfield Park, Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) is delighted to announce that racing fans can now enjoy full access to sectional time data for all races on its four all-weather racecourses.
ARC and its media partner, At The Races, are working with Total Performance Data (“TPD”) to develop accessible sectional timing tools for all races at Lingfield Park, Newcastle, Southwell and Wolverhampton racecourses.
Sectional Timing offers in-race speed information per runner throughout a race. With fascinating stories unfolding way before the horses reach the finish line, the data shines a light on the way a race was run, rather than just the result.
At The Races, via www.attheraces.com is providing detailed statistics on race pace, mid race positioning, energy distribution, and sectional splits. After each race a comprehensive dataset of in-race timing will be made available to help racing fans analyse the performance of each horse.
All information is available here on at the races.com: www.attheraces.com/sectionalsinfo with a full guide on what the data means here: www.attheraces.com/sectionalsguide.
Historical data from this year’s All-Weather Championships Finals Day on 25 March 2016 is available to view on attheraces.com. Screen shots of the sectional times and analysis of the Three Year Old Sprint on Finals Day are attached with this press release.
Total Performance Data Founder, Will Duff Gordon, said: “We are delighted to publish data on At The Races. With the surge in popularity of online betting, the ability to quickly and easily see well presented form data has become increasingly important to today’s betting consumer. Our aim is to bring horseracing firmly into the modern era by providing the added content that consumers have come to expect from sport. This is only the start of what we hope can be achieved in the coming months and years given technology is improving all the time.”
ARC Director of External Affairs, Susannah Gill, said, “As a racecourse group, we are constantly striving for innovative solutions to widen the appeal of the sport. TPD’s unique and collaborative approach opens up new insights for racing fans, horsemen, betting operators and their customers. We are really pleased to be leading the way on making this information as accessible as possible via our media partners At The Races.”
At The Races’ Director of New Media and Innovation Matthew Taylor said: “Our objective was to make the Sectional Timing data as accessible and enlightening as possible for our audience and it is something we’ll continue to develop into the future. By embedding the Sectional Timing information within our Form Database, racing fans can see at a glance how horses performed within the wider context of how the race was run and then watch the replay as well - no other website offers this level of detail for All-Weather Racing. We will also be discussing and showcasing it on the TV channel to help illustrate how it can be used to give a new and exciting angle to racing.”
